The Khek River Rafting Route: An Adventure of Various Levels The Khek River rafting route is an adventure filled with diversity, ranging from easy rapids to extremely challenging ones, ending with relaxation. Overall, there are 18 rapids waiting for you to experience. The journey begins at Tha Kham rapids (Level 1-2), which are not very large and suitable for practicing boat control and getting familiar with the current. During low water times, there may be some rocks sticking up for a bit of exercise. After this rapid, you will encounter calm water where you can jump in to relax before continuing further. As you move deeper into the river, the difficulty of the rapids gradually increases, requiring skill and quick thinking to control the boat. Sai rapids (Level 3-4): These are of medium to high difficulty. The challenge here is that the water immediately turns left after you paddle for a short while. Pak Yang rapids (Level 2-3): The difficulty depends on the water level, and you must hold the left-side current steady. The Rattan Rapids: This is the final stretch of the Pak Yang rapids, characterized by sloping stones. You should hold on firmly to the boat to avoid being thrown out.
Suan Ratchamangkala Rapid (Level 3-4): It is recommended to choose the right side of the river for a more exciting experience, as there are rocks blocking the middle of the watercourse, requiring considerable skill in canoe maneuvering. During high water, waves may exceed 1 meter.Sang Rapid (Level 4-5): Considered one of the most difficult and dangerous rapids, it features a wide rocky expanse that drops over 10 meters, with strong currents descending along the rock layers.Sophraram Rapid: This is an S-shaped rapid. Although the current is not very strong, navigating the curves requires good boat control.Nang Khoi Rapid (Level 4-5): This rapid has rock layers that drop down, and the current reaches nearly 2 meters in height.Yao Rapid (Level 3-4): True to its name, this rapid stretches over 100 meters.
