Q: What types of rooms does Rainforest have? How many houses does it accommodate? How many guests can it accommodate?

A: We have 9 types of rooms, 15 houses in total, which can accommodate from 2 to 7 guests, totaling 50-60 guests.

Q: What amenities are available in the room?

A: The room has complete amenities, including a TV, refrigerator, water heater, shower cream, shampoo, towels, hair dryer, and hot water kettle.

Q: Is there wireless internet service for guests?

A: Yes, we have free Wi-Fi service throughout the resort.

Q: What is the distance and travel time from Phitsanulok city to the resort?

A: From Phitsanulok to the resort, the distance is 43 kilometers, taking approximately 45 minutes.

Q: How many hours does it take to travel from Bangkok to the resort and what transportation options are available?

A: 1. By private car, approximately 4-5 hours (distance approximately 400 kilometers)

2. By plane, approximately 50 minutes.

3. By train, approximately 5 hours.

(From the airport or train station, you can rent a car to go to the bus station to connect to Phitsanulok-Nakhon Thai/Dan Sai/Lom Sak/Phetchabun and inform them that you will be getting off in front of Rainforest Resort.)

4.1 Bangkok to Phitsanulok takes approximately 5 hours.

4.2 Bangkok to the resort takes about 6 hours by taking a bus from Phitsanulok Yanyont Tour Company (Bangkok-Phitsanulok-Khao Kho)

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Pets are allowed to stay with an additional charge of 300 baht per pet and a 1,000 baht damage deposit. The resort will refund the deposit if the house is not damaged.

 

Q: I want to know the restaurant's opening and closing hours?

A: The restaurant is open every day from 07.30 - 19.00 hrs. For dinner, please order before 18.30 hrs. And for homestay guests, breakfast is from 07.30 - 10.00 hrs.

Q: Can I swim in the stream behind the resort? How?

A: During November to May, you can swim because the water is clear and the volume is not too high. However, during June to October, which is the rainy season, the water flows strongly and is murky. We do not recommend swimming or you can swim if the water is not swift. However, customers can use the Khek River rafting service.

Q: Is it possible to prepare food at the accommodation?

A: The resort does not allow guests to cook food in or outside their rooms.

But we have a grill with charcoal for rent for 300 baht.

If food is cooked, we will charge a cleaning fee.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Pets are allowed to stay with an additional charge of 300 baht per pet and a 1,000 baht damage deposit. The resort will refund the deposit if the house is not damaged.

Rafting on the Khek River

Q: What month does white water rafting on the Khek River start and end?

A: Usually it starts in July, but some years when it rains early, you can start cruising as early as June. You can cruising until October, but if it still rains and the water level is high, you can cruising until mid-November.

Q: What age can children go rafting on the Khek River?

A: You must be 12 years old or older to go rafting. The oldest customer who went rafting was 87 years old.

Q: If I can't swim, can I go white water rafting?

A: People who can't swim can go rafting. If you fall off the boat, the life jacket will help you not to sink and the staff will find a way to help you back on the boat.

Q: How many levels are there in the Khek River?

A: The Khek River has levels 1-5, which are from low currents to rapids 2-2.5 meters high. There are all levels.

Q: What is the safe water level for whitewater rafting?

A: The operator has set up a water level gauge for the Khek River, ranging from 0-1400, which is the safe water level for rafting. If it is lower than that, you may get stuck on rocks in the rapids. If it is higher than that, we will not allow rafting because it is too dangerous.

Q: How many rapids are there in the Khek River rafting?

A: There are 15-18 rapids, depending on the water level. If the water level is high, the small rapids may disappear, leaving only 15-16 rapids.

Q: How long is the cruise distance and time?

A: Starting from Ban Tha Kham - Kaeng Song Waterfall, 8 km., average rafting time 2-2:30, depending on water level.

Q: How many rounds are there in one day? What time are they?

A: Normally there are 2 rounds at 8:30 am and 1:00 pm, but Rain Forest Trails has 4 rounds, with additional rounds at 10:00 am and 3:30 pm.

Q: How many people can fit in one boat?

A: Each boat has 2 captains and 2 steersmen. It can accommodate 8 people (9-10 people is when there is a lot of water). The boat requires a minimum of 4 people. If there are 2-3 people, you will have to join other customers. However, if there are no other customers at that time, you will have to charter the boat and we will have our team go down to help row.

Q: Are there any contraindications for people with chronic diseases?

A: Not suitable for

1. People who have severe back pain.

2. People who are pregnant

3. People with heart disease

4. People who have had surgery within the last 2 months.

Q: How should I dress?

A: It is recommended to wear light, dark colored clothing because the water in the rainy season is murky and brown. If you are afraid of the heat, we recommend long-sleeved shirts and long pants (warm-up pants, sports pants). Jeans are not recommended because they are heavy and not flexible. You should not wear accessories such as earrings, necklaces, or glasses because they may fall into the water and may be hit and injured. All items that cannot get wet should be stored before going down, unless you have a waterproof bag.

Q: Can someone who has never gone rafting before go rafting?

A: Yes, although Lam Khek rafting has many level 4-5 rapids, before every rafting, the staff will explain the details and demonstrate the use of equipment, different paddling methods, how to behave when encountering obstacles, what to do if you fall into the water, etc.

Q: Why is white water rafting on the Khek River ranked as one of the best white water rafting activities in Thailand?

A: Because of white water rafting on the Khek River.

1) There are rapids level 1-5, from easiest to hardest, and they start from easy to difficult.

2) The waterway is parallel to Highway No. 12. In the event of an accident, rescue workers can easily and promptly bring their vehicles to help.

3) Distance 8 km. with cruising time 2-2:30 hrs. not too fast or too long.

4) Easy access: Cars can take tourists directly to the pier at Ban Tha Kham to board the boat, without having to walk far.

Q: Will flooding in the northern region, such as Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, and Phitsanulok, affect whitewater rafting?

A: It is not affected because the province has the Nan River flowing through it, but the Khek River originates from Khao Kho and Thung Salaeng Luang National Park, which are different rivers.

Kayaking to see Kaeng Song Waterfall

Q: When does the Kaeng Song Waterfall Kayaking tour start and end?

A: Usually it starts from November to April or May depending on the water level.

Q: What age can children paddle a kayak?

A: You must be 6 years old or older to be able to kayak.

Q: If I can't swim, can I kayak?

A: People who can't swim can also kayak because if they fall out of the boat, the life jacket will help keep them from sinking.

Q: How many rounds are there in one day? What time are they?

A: There are 5 rounds at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00.

Q: How many people can fit on one boat?

A: Normally, one boat can accommodate 1-2 people, but if you want to accommodate 3 people, the total weight should not exceed 150 kg.

Q: Can someone who has never kayaked anywhere before be able to do so?

A: Yes, but you may have to exert some effort on the way there because the kayaking route on the way there is upstream, which requires passing 2-3 small rapids. On the way back, you will paddle downstream, which is easier. Before every rafting, the staff will explain the details and demonstrate the use of equipment, different paddling methods, etc.

Q: How should I dress?

Q: How long is the kayaking distance and time?

A: The distance from the resort to Kaeng Song Waterfall is approximately 200 meters. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to paddle there and back. Each round is scheduled by the resort for 2 hours.
